Acromioclavicular joint (ACJ) dislocation combined with ipsilateral midclavicular fracture is extremely unusual and is a high-energy injury to the shoulder. A review of the literature divides the treatment of clavicular fractures is divided into nonsurgical treatment, plates, and intramedullary nailing, while the options for ACJ dislocation are elastic fixation and rigid fixation. However, there is still a lack of consensus about the most appropriate way to treat this shoulder injury. This case report involves a mid-clavicle fracture with dislocation of the ipsilateral ACJ, which was classified as type V according to Rockwood classification.
A 65-year-old man came to the emergency department after a traffic accident in which he was driving a motorcycle that collided with another motorcycle and his right shoulder collided directly with the ground. Digital radiography (DR) and computed tomography (CT) scans of the right shoulder joint showed mid-clavicle fracture with dislocation of the ipsilateral ACJ, which was classified as type V according to Rockwood classification.
The diagnosis of mid-clavicle fracture with dislocation of the ipsilateral ACJ was confirmed by DR and CT.
The patient was treated with a clavicle plate combined with the double Endobutton technique.
After a 6-month follow up, the patient had excellent results for shoulder range of motion and functional. The patient's Constant-Murley score is 92.

Extra-pulmonary tuberculosis (TB) has long been a diagnostic challenge for clinicians, often requiring extensive workup and invasive procedures, with the risk of significant complications. Endoscopic ultrasound-guided fine-needle aspiration (EUS-FNA) is a minimally invasive and highly accurate diagnostic modality for the evaluation of mediastinal and abdominal lymphadenopathy and masses. Oral diseases or poor oral hygiene have close connections with systemic inflammatory reaction, which is one of major mechanism in the development of chronic kidney disease (CKD). We conducted a research assuming that better oral hygiene care would be negatively related with the risk of developing new-onset CKD.From 2003 to 2004, a total of 158,495 participants from the Korean national health insurance data sharing service which provides health screening data including variables as age, sex, vascular risk factors, medication information, indicators regarding oral hygiene, and laboratory results. The diagnosis of CKD and vascular risk factors were defined according to the International Statistical Classification of Diseases and Related Health Problems codes-10th revision. The follow-up period for the study subject was until the occurrence of CKD, until death, or Dec 31, 2015.Approximately 13.3% of the participants suffered from periodontal disease, and 40.7% brushed their teeth at least three times a day. Currently, there is limited evidence to guide treatment and no standard management guidelines exist for treating frozen shoulder (FS). A general management approach consists of initial evaluation, range of motion (ROM) exercises, intra-articular injection of glucocorticoid, home exercise program (HEP), and/or physical therapies. However, the general approach lacks detail and has limited evidence of its effectiveness. This retrospective cohort study evaluates the short-term recovery of near-full to full-ROM technique followed by an instructed HEP for strengthening and coordinating shoulder girdle muscle group for FS management. This study details our experiences following a general approach to managing FS and aims to fill this knowledge void, providing additional context of the efficacy of FS management in the real-world. Seven-two adult patients with FS (46 females, 26 males; mean age of 66; standard deviation of 15.1; range 23-87) from an orthopedic and physical medicine and sport medicine office between 2014 and 2018 were included in this study.
