ide important policy implications to improving childhood malnutrition in Yemen.
Contrast-enhanced ultrasound (CEUS) refers to a technique that uses contrast medium to strengthen the echo of backscatter, which can significantly improve the resolution, sensitivity and specificity of ultrasound diagnosis. As a quantitative imaging examination of blood flow signals, CEUS has allowed detection of synovial microvascularization in the joints of patients with rheumatoid arthritis (RA). However, the results of these studies have been contradictory. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to evaluate the value of CEUS in the activity of RA disease.
We will search PubMed, Embase, Cochrane Library, and CNKI from their inception to the December 20, 2020, without restrictions of language and publication status. Two investigators will independently carry out searching literature records, scanning titles and abstracts, full texts, collecting data, and assessing risk of bias. This study will only include high quality clinical cohort or case control studies. Statistical analysis was performed by using the Review Manager version 5.3 and the STATA version 14.0 (Stata Corp, College Station, TX, USA) softwares.
This systematic review will determine the value of CEUS in RA activity scores.
The results of this study will provide a useful basis for high-quality CEUS to evaluate RA activity score.

Infection with the SARS-CoV-2 virus seems to contribute significantly to increased postoperative complications and mortality after emergency surgical procedures. Additionally, the fear of COVID-19 contagion delays the consultation of patients, resulting in the deterioration of their acute diseases by the time of consultation. In the specific case of urgent digestive surgery patients, both factors significantly worsen the postoperative course and prognosis. Main working hypothesis infection by COVID-19 increases postoperative 30-day-mortality for any cause in patients submitted to emergency/urgent general or gastrointestinal surgery. Likewise, hospital collapse during the first wave of the COVID-19 pandemic increased 30-day-mortality for any cause. Hence, the main objective of this study is to estimate the cumulative incidence of mortality at 30-days-after-surgery. Secondary objectives are to estimate the cumulative incidence of postoperative complications and to develop a specific postoperative risk propenstudy findings will be submitted to peer-reviewed journals and presented at relevant national and international scientific meetings.ClinicalTrials.gov Identifier NCT04479150 (July 21, 2020).
Acupuncture is widely used for analgesia in China and western countries. Lateral epicondylitis (LE) is a common disease, which influences the quality of life for many patients. The clinical practice indicates that acupuncture has a therapeutic effect on the LE; however, whether acupuncture is superior to sham acupuncture and some conventional therapy methods has been controversial. Hence, we will provide a protocol to explore the effectiveness and safety for acupuncture for LE.
We will search only the randomized controlled trials (RCTs) literatures of acupuncture for LE from the following seven databases, including PubMed, Cochrane Central Register of Controlled Trials (The Cochrane Library), Excerpta Medica Database (EMBASE), China National Knowledge Infrastructure (CNKI), Chinese Biomedical Literature Database (CBM), Wanfang Data, and Chinese Scientific Journals Database (VIP). The Visual Analogue Scale (VAS) will be considered as the primary outcome and the secondary outcome will include effective rate and function recovery. Adverse events incidence caused by acupuncture will also be discussed, such as dizziness, nausea, vomiting, and weariness. The searching strategy, inclusion and exclusion criteria were made according to the principle of evidence-based medicine. The quality was evaluated by Cochrane Handbook for Systematic Reviews of Interventions (V5.1). https://www.selleckchem.com/products/bi-2852.html All analyses will be conducted by Review Manager Software (V5.3).
The results of this review will be submitted to a recognized journal for publication.
This proposed meta-analysis will assess the efficacy and safety of acupuncture therapy for LE.

Malignant peripheral nerve sheath tumors (MPNSTs) are rare sarcomas arising from peripheral nerves. MPNSTs are uncommon in the head and neck, and various clinical manifestation often make the diagnosis challenging.
A 67-year-old female was referred for evaluation of repetitive syncope with a massive mass in the neck. link2 Preoperative evaluation revealed potential neuroendocrine activity of the mass and enhanced computed tomography showed carotid artery was involved.
According to the preoperative imaging, intraoperative finding and postoperative pathological examination, the diagnosis of left neck MPNST involving left carotid arteries was made.
Volume expansion therapy with phenoxybenzamine started one week before surgery. Complete surgical resection of the mass was performed and pathological analysis suggested the diagnosis of MPNST. The postoperative radiotherapy was not given due to her poor nutrition.
This patient recovered well after surgery and no sign of recurrence was noted at 2-year follow-up.
Though the involvement of carotid artery with neuroendocrine activity is rare in sporadic MPNST, preoperative scanning of blood and urine catecholamine is crucial for intraoperative hemodynamic stability, especially when carotid artery is involved.

The transformation of acute promyelocytic leukemia (APL) to acute mononuclear leukemia during treatment is a rare clinical phenomenon, and no CCAAT/enhancer-binding protein alpha (CEBPA) double mutations have been reported.
A 42-year-old male was hospitalized for ecchymosis of the left lower limb for more than 1 month, gingival bleeding, and fatigue for 10 days, with aggravation of symptoms for 2 days.
A diagnosis of APL was based on bone marrow (BM) morphology, immunophenotyping, fusion gene analysis, and fluorescence in situ hybridization. At a 1-year follow-up of maintenance treatment, he developed thrombocytopenia and was diagnosed with acute myeloid leukemia (AML) with a CEBPA double mutation by BM morphology, immunotyping, chromosomal analysis, polymerase chain reaction, and next generation sequencing.
Complete remission of APL was achieved after all-trans retinoic acid and arsenic trioxide double induction therapy, followed by 2 cycles of mitoxantrone and cytarabine, and 1 cycle of idarubicin and cytarabine. Thereafter, sequential maintenance therapy of arsenic trioxide + all-trans retinoic acid + methotrexate was started. In the fourth cycle of maintenance therapy, APL was transformed into AML with a CEBPA double mutation. After 1 cycle of idarubicin and cytarabine, the patient achieved complete remission and received 3 cycles of idarubicin and cytarabine and three cycles of high-dose cytarabine as consolidation therapy.
At present, the patient is in continuous remission with minimal residual disease negative for both of APL and AML.
AML with a CEBPA double mutation after APL treatment is very rare, thus the prognosis of this event will require further observation.

Deep neck abscesses are dangerous. Artificial dermis combined with seal negative pressure drainage is a new technique for treating refractory wounds. To compare the efficacy of vacuum sealing drainage (VSD) with that of traditional incision drainage approaches for treating deep neck multiple spaces infections. This retrospective analysis includes patient data from our hospital collected from January 2010 to March 2020. A total of 20 cases were identified. Based on the treatment methods, the patients were divided into the VSD group and the traditional group. Inflammation indicators (white blood count, WBC), duration of antibiotic use, hospitalization time, doctors' workload (frequency of dressing changes) and treatment cost were analyzed and compared between the two groups.Of the 20 patients, 11 patients underwent treatment with VSD, while the other 9 underwent traditional treatment. All patients were cured after treatment. Compared with the traditional group, the VSD group had a slower decline in the inflammation index, shorter duration of antibiotic use, shorter hospital stay, and lower doctor workloads (P < .001). There was no significant difference in treatment cost between the two groups (P > .05).VSD technology can markedly improve the therapeutic effect of deep neck multiple spaces infection. This treatment method can be used to rapidly control infections and is valuable in the clinic (P > .05).

Although it is well recognized that other surgical specialties perform various procedures related to trauma care, there is a lack of analyses focusing on the role of plastic surgical management in trauma centers. This retrospective study was designed to investigate the scope of plastic surgery services in acute trauma care, using clinical data obtained from a single, regional, level I trauma center. This study included patients who presented to a single, regional, level I trauma center between March 1, 2016 and February 28, 2018. link3 Patients with acute trauma to the facial soft tissue and skeleton, soft tissue of the upper and lower limbs, trunk and perineum, and other areas requiring plastic surgical procedures were included in the analysis. Cases requiring consultation for the correction of posttraumatic deformity or secondary deformity and trauma sequelae, such as scars, were excluded. Data on patients' demographics and detailed surgical procedures were acquired from electronic medical records. The reviewed ases. The most commonly elevated free flap was the ALT flap (n = 69).Plastic surgeons play various roles in level I trauma centers, such as in the management of facial injury, performing limb-saving free tissue transfers, and complex wound reconstruction with flaps or skin grafts. Thus, plastic surgeons are an essential part of trauma centers.
Gait automaticity is reduced in patients with Parkinson disease (PD) due to impaired habitual control. The aim of this study was to investigate the effect of robot-assisted gait training (RAGT) on gait automaticity as well as gait speed and balance in patients with PD.This study was a prospective, open-label, single-arm, pilot study. We planned to recruit 12 patients with idiopathic PD. Participants received 12 sessions of RAGT using exoskeleton-type robotic device. Sessions were 45-minute each, 3 days a week, for 4 consecutive weeks using an exoskeleton-type gait robot. The primary outcome was the percentage of dual-task interference measured by the 10-Meter Walk Test (10MWT) under single and dual-task (cognitive and physical) conditions. Secondary outcomes were the Berg Balance Scale and Korean version of the Falls Efficacy Scale-International. All measures were evaluated before treatment (T0), after treatment (T1), and 1-month post-treatment (T2).Twelve patients were enrolled and 1 dropped out. Finally, 11 patients with idiopathic PD were analyzed.
