This cross-sectional study aimed to analyze dysphagia-specific quality of life and its influencing factors in aged patients with neurologic disorders, and is reported according to the STROBE checklist for observational research. The study included 120 outpatients, aged ≥65 years, diagnosed with neurologic diseases at a general hospital Neurology Department in Seoul, Korea. Data collected during a one-month (March and April 2021) questionnaire survey were statistically analyzed using SPSS. Factors related to dysphagia-specific quality of life were gender, education level, neurological diagnosis, type of diet, subjective swallowing disturbance, and affectionate support-a subscale of social support. The combined explanatory power of these factors was 42.1%. It is essential to note that the factors related to the emotional, functional, and physical domains-the subscales of dysphagia-specific quality of life-are different. Therefore, each factor should be considered when planning nursing interventions to improve dysphagia-specific quality of life.
With this publication, the International Society for Gynecologic Endoscopy (ISGE) aims to provide the clinicians with the recommendations arising from the best evidence currently available on hysteroscopic myomectomy (HM).

Breast augmentations are among the most common interventional cosmetic procedures performed nowadays, but scarcity of data exists on its effects on breastfeeding. Our aim was to evaluate whether breast augmentation adversely affects breastfeeding.
A retrospective cohort study using database of a 2.3-million-member state mandate health maintenance organization (HMO). We identified primigravida women with a singleton pregnancy who delivered between the years 1998-2016, at gestational age of >34weeks of gestation. Study group included women with breast augmentation surgery, which compared to control group of women who did not undergo breast augmentation. The primary outcome was documentation of any breastfeeding during the first three months postpartum.
Overall, 14,919 women were included, of them, 3913 and 11,006 women with and without breast augmentation, respectively. Women with breasts augmentation were younger (29.8±3.6years vs. 30.9±4.0years, p<0.001), had lower pre-pregnancy BMI (25.2±5.0 vs. 26.36±5.0 Kg/m
, p<0.001), belong to higher socioeconomic status level and less religious communities. Breastfeeding rates in the study group were lower as compared to controls (70.7% VS 85.1%; p<0.0001), with an adjusted odds ratio of 0.42(95% CI 0.38-0.461). Maternal diabetes mellitus and advanced maternal age were associated with a lower likelihood of breastfeeding (95% CI0.45-0.78, p-value<0.0001), while belonging to religious communities were associated with higher breastfeeding rates (95% CI 1.34-1.99, p-value<0.0001).

COVID-19 is a rapidly spreading disease and many people have been infected in a short time. Favipiravir is under investigation for the treatment of COVID-19 and given to patients in many countries following emergency use approval. Based on data from animal studies, favipiravir use is contraindicated during pregnancy. Currently, there is no human data except for a single case report on use of favipiravir in pregnancy.
This article includes the outcomes of 29 pregnancies reported to the Clinical Pharmacology and Toxicology Unit regarding favipiravir use in pregnancy. For drug risk assessment, maternal characteristics were obtained at first contact. After the expected day of delivery, follow-up is conducted by phone call and all relevant data regarding pregnancy and newborn outcome were documented.
Of the 29 pregnancies exposed to favipiravir, 5 were electively terminated and 24 resulted in live birth. There were no miscarriages or no stillbirths. There were 25 live births including one pair of twins. Three children were born premature, and one infant had patent foramen ovale. Birth weights, lengths and head circumferences of all infants were within normal range.
The results of the study indicate that favipiravir is unlikely to be a major human teratogen, but experience is still limited for a well-grounded risk assessment. Although these findings may be useful for the physicians and patients, larger studies are needed due to small number of cases.

In this study, we performed a genome-wide CRISPR/Cas9 knock out screen in an orthotopic murine model of breast cancer for essential genes monitoring the progression and metastasis of breast cancer. MI-503 We found one member of the zinc finger protein (ZNF) family, i.e., ZNF319, was among the top candidate genes. We further confirmed the lower expression of ZNF319 in the tumor tissue of breast cancer patients by analyzing tissue sections with IHC staining and TCGA database. Consistently, higher expression of ZNF319 correlates with better clinical outcome in almost all subtypes of breast cancer. Moreover, knocking down or overexpressing ZNF319 in breast cancer cells dramatically affects the breast cancer growth and metastasis capacity both in vitro and in vivo, suggesting ZNF319 functions as a strong suppressor of breast cancer progression. Lastly, the transcriptome analysis on ZNF319-silenced breast cancer cells shows that ZNF319 is involved in multiple crucial signaling pathways and biological processes, especially in cell cycle and proliferation. GO and KEGG analyses of our RNA-seq results reveal the up-regulation of E2F and G2/M related genes in ZNF319-silenced cells, suggesting that ZNF319 monitors the cell cycle during the breast cancer progression through the regulation of the E2F target genes and G2/M checkpoint. In summary, our study identifies ZNF319 as a novel metastasis suppressor gene arresting tumor cell cycle in breast cancer and thus presents a novel potential therapeutic target for breast cancer treatment.Many temperate ectotherms survive winter by entering diapause - a state of developmental (or reproductive) suppression or arrest - in response to short autumnal day lengths. Day lengths are assessed by the circadian clock, the biological time-keeping system that governs biological rhythms with a period of approximately 24 h. However, clock output molecules controlling this photoperiodic response are largely unknown for many insects. To identify these molecules in Hemiptera, we performed RNAi knockdowns of several candidate genes in the bean bug Riptortus pedestris to determine whether their silencing affects photoperiodic regulation of ovarian development (reproductive diapause). Knockdown of diuretic hormone 31, short neuropeptide F, neuropeptide F, ion transport peptide, neuropeptide-like precursor 1, and choline acetyltransferase had no effect on ovarian development and were therefore ruled out as regulators of the photoperiodic response. However, knockdown of vesicular glutamate transporter promoted ovarian development under diapause-inducing short days, and this is the first report of the functional involvement of glutamate signalling in insect photoperiodism. Improved knockdown of this transporter (or receptor) and RNAi of other genes involved in glutamate signal transduction is required to verify its role as an output of the circadian clock.Entrectinib (Rozlytrek®) is an oral antineoplastic agent approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration in 2019 for the treatment of c-ros oncogene 1 (ROS1)-positive non-small cell lung cancer and neurotrophic tyrosine receptor kinase (NTRK) fusion-positive solid tumors. Although there have been a few studies on the pharmacokinetics of entrectinib, the relative contributions of several kinetic factors determining the oral bioavailability and systemic exposure of entrectinib are still worthy of investigation. Experimental data on the intestinal absorption and disposition of entrectinib in rats were acquired from studies on in vitro protein binding/tissue S9 metabolism, in situ intestinal perfusion, and in vivo dose-escalation/hepatic extraction. Using these datasets, an in-house whole-body physiologically based pharmacokinetic (PBPK) model incorporating the QGut model concepts and segregated blood flow in the gut was constructed and optimized with respect to drug-specific parameters. The established rat PBPK model was further extrapolated to humans through relevant physiological scale-up and parameter optimization processes. The optimized rat and human PBPK models adequately captured the impact of route-dependent gut metabolism on the systemic exposure to entrectinib and closely mirrored various preclinical and clinical observations. Our proposed PBPK model could be useful in optimizing dosage regimens and predicting drug interaction potential in various clinical conditions, after partial modification and validation.
