The Band Toto Asia
Toto was expanding production facilities overseas, and was doing business in France and Germany, Indonesia, Korea and Taiwan, Thailand and the People's Republic of China. North America was seen as an area of growth for Washlet toilets and bidet seats, as opposed its "base" markets in Japan and China.
Dhaniram Toto recorded Toto words to ensure that the future generation could read the words. Many words were replaced with foreign words. For example dui, which is Bengali for verandah, was used.
Origins
Incorporated in 1917, Toto's early years were a mirror of Japan's economic development. In the first half of 1917, Toto produced goods to meet the demand for modern, new urban housing. It had the first tunnel kilns in the country that could produce ceramics continuously. It also pioneered automation for production control, allowing greater efficiency and consistency.
The company began expanding overseas in the late 1980s to take advantage of new markets and sales opportunities. The company established the Cera Trading Company to import and distribute other products of other manufacturers to complement its own line of sanitary earthenwares as well as plumbing fittings. This strategy helped increase sales and expand the company's market share in the world.
In the late 1990s, Toto had shifted its emphasis on research and development for household appliances that use water. It also improved its distribution system to better serve its customers and increase profit. The company used the same just-in time approach in its supply chain management as well as sales program. This resulted in a higher level of satisfaction with the customer.
Toto has been able to continue to innovate in the toilet technology. Its most recent toilet, for example it has a powerful tornado flush that is more ecologically friendly than traditional toilets. The company also uses recycled water in its manufacturing process and has a green purchasing policy. In addition to toilets Toto manufactures faucets and bathtubs, as well as hand dryers that are more efficient in energy use than standard models.
The first Toto museum opened in 2015. It features exhibits on Toto’s seminal products, their evolution, the group companies (all of which are made from ceramics) and the history of plumbing and products such as bath units. In a separate gallery you can see Toto products that are sold throughout. The museum has a bathroom with a WASHLET as well as other toilet innovations.
Before forming Toto the members of the group performed sessions for many musicians. 토지노 커뮤니티 featured keyboardist David Paich and guitarists Mike Porcaro & Steve Lukather as well as drummer Jeff Porcaro & Steve Lukather. They also played on records by Steely Don, Seals and Crofts and Sonny and Cher.
Discography
You might expect a band with a name like Asia to be a prog rock group however, it's actually a pretty straightforward rock outfit. The group began as a quartet and recorded two albums: 1979's self titled debut, and 1980's Armed to the Teeth. The group has a diverse musical background, but their biggest success came in 1982 with Toto IV.
The album was a huge blockbuster, but not without difficulties. Record companies put the band on the spot with the ultimatum "give us a hit record or we'll take you off the market" and the pressure was on to deliver. Toto was able to achieve this feat with the help of the smash hit "Africa."
Toto's musical mastery owes a lot to their previous experience in the music industry, as the band members had been session musicians for artists like Boz Scaggs, Steely Dan, and Seals and Crofts prior the group. Their sonic trademark has become the standard for 1980s music, and has inspired a lot of contemporary artists.
The album opens with a strong and pounding sound with songs like Running Out of Time and Unknown Soldier showcasing the bands ability to write amazing AOR songs that slowly get their hooks into your mind. The album also includes some more jazzy, slower tracks such as The Little Things and Chinatown. The album closes with Great Expectations. This song is a mix of folk and the distorted AOR that could appear completely unnatural, but actually works very well.
After Toto IV the band's fortunes began to decline. David Hungate left to concentrate on his solo career, and the band went through several drummers. In 1984, Bobby Kimball was fired from the group in the aftermath of drug-related charges. However, the band continued as a trio with Michael Porcaro and Steve Lukather.
Despite the chaos, Toto forged ahead and released Isolation that was not as successful as IV. However, the band managed to release another chart-topping album in 1992, Kingdom of Desire. This album marked the end of the original Toto lineup and was also the first to feature the new singer, Simon Phillips.
Tours
The band has performed around the world to a global audience of millions, and has sold-out shows across Europe, North America, Asia and Australia and New Zealand. The band has a huge repertoire, and its catalog has been listened to over a billion times on streaming services across the world. The band's music has been influential to many generations of fans.
Steve Lukather has forged a rich, deep friendship with Joe Williams that is flourishing professionally around the world. In 2018 the duo celebrated their 40th anniversary of Tours Around the Sun with a wildly successful global tour. The album with the same name reached #5 on Billboard 200. The latest tour of the band features their most popular songs and rarely-performed live deep cuts and some songs that come from Lukather's and Williams catalogs.

Line-up
The band's third album, Turn Back, marked a return to the classic sextet arrangement of the previous albums. It was a stronger, more constant effort with an edge that was stronger than Hydra. The edgier sound of Turn Back reflected the maturation in the group. Drummer Bobby Kimball's increased ability to play was evident in the vocal delivery of Joseph Williams, who had become more confident and mature. David Paich's keyboard skills were also more sophisticated, sharper, and less derivative on previous recordings.
After touring to promote the album, the group recorded a live concert in Amsterdam which was released as a two-CD set entitled Falling In Between Live on Eagle Records. The group released a brand new studio album just a few months after, and went on a world tour support it. During this time keyboardist Greg Phillinganes replaced Paich and bassist David Hungate quit the group to spend time with his family.
In 1998, Paich & Lukather began exploring old tapes and demos to discover songs that had never been recorded before. The album was released as a double album titled Then and Now in 2001. It was the first album by the band without a single song titled "A". The album also included a previously unreleased track "Kari-Anne".
By 2003, Toto had begun to decline in popularity. The group's fourth album, Old Is New, was a commercial failure and singer Williams suffered from a bad case of laryngitis that limited his singing abilities. Hungate also returned to Nashville and Leland Sklar's drumming was replaced by Shem Von Schroeck.
Downes and the other original members of Asia - Wetton, Palmer, and Howe--convened an event in England in the early part of 2006 to discuss the possibility of formally restructuring the band. The lineup, which was minus Howe (who was working with Yes at the time), eventually became known as Toto XIV and toured extensively.
In 2010, the band reunited for another reunion tour with a slightly different line-up, including guitarists Mike Porcaro and Steve Lukather, drummer John Pierce, bassist Shannon Forrest, and multi-instrumentalists Warren Ham and Dominique Taplin. The band also had a special appearance by singer Michael McDonald and a backing vocalist named Mabvuto Carver.
