The improved control method is validated by both simulation and experiment in the tip-tilt mirror control system under the condition of vibrations. Rolling bearings are important supporting components widely used in rotating machinery and are prone to failure, it is thus important to perform fault detection of rolling bearing quickly and accurately. Aiming at the problem that it is difficult to extract the weak impulses buried in strong background noise in rolling bearing fault diagnosis, this paper proposes an enhanced fault detection method combining sparse code shrinkage denoising with fast spectral correlation according to the cyclic statistical properties of defective bearing vibration signals. First, in view of the non-Gaussian statistical properties of the periodic impulses caused by the localized bearing defect in vibration signals, the sparse code shrinkage algorithm is employed to denoise the original noisy signal, thereby highlighting the periodic impulses. Then, the Fast Spectral Correlation (Fast-SC) algorithm is used to process the denoised signal to get the cyclic spectral correlation. Finally, the squared enhanced envelope spectrum (SEES) is presented to effectively detect and identify the rolling bearing faults. Experimental results demonstrate the validity and superiority of the proposed method in rolling bearing fault detection through the comparison with the Fast-SC, spectral kurtosis and Infogram. OBJECTIVE To evaluate the impact of an infant, young child feeding practices-small-quantity lipid nutrient supplements (SQ-LNS) intervention on child development scores in children aged 6-18 months in the Katanga Province, Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC). STUDY DESIGN We analyzed data of 2595 children from 2 health zones in a quasi-experimental design with preimplementation and postimplementation surveys to evaluate program impact on child development scores. Standard care was received in the comparison health zone and the intervention health zone received standard care plus enhanced infant, young child feeding practices with a monthly supply of 28 SQ-LNS sachets for up to 1 year. Program exposure and communication and motor domains of the Ages and Stages questionnaire were collected to assess changes in child development scores. A quasi-intent-to-treat and adjusted difference-in-difference analyses were used to quantify impact of the enhanced compared with the standard package. RESULTS In adjusted models contrasting endline with baseline, there was a greater relative increase in proportion of children with normal communication (difference-in-difference, +13.7% [95%CI, 7.9-19.6; P  less then  .001] and gross motor scores, +7.4% [95% CI 1.3-13.5; P  less then  .001]) in the intervention vs comparison health zones. DDR1-IN-1 inhibitor Further, in separate analyses among children of intervention health zone at endline, each additional SQ-LNS distribution was associated with +0.09 (95% CI, 0.03-0.16) z-score unit increase in gross motor scores (P  less then  .01). CONCLUSIONS The integrated infant, young child feeding practice-SQ-LNS intervention was positively associated with larger relative improvements in measures of child communication and motor development in the Katanga province of DRC. Thyroid-associated ophthalmopathy can result in proptosis. In such cases, orbital decompression surgery is often warranted to reduce the adverse impact on patient quality of life. Due to the anatomical complexity of the orbit, navigation can be of considerable assistance during orbital decompression. The objective of this study was to evaluate the benefits of using a surgical navigation device in orbital decompression surgery. A retrospective study was performed based on patients who underwent decompression surgery with (N+) or without (N-) a navigation device between 1997 and 2017. Included patients had undergone unilateral or bilateral orbital decompression by resection of the orbital floor and medial wall of the orbit. Criteria assessed were the presence of debilitating postoperative diplopia, postoperative proptosis reduction, symmetry of protrusion of the eyeballs, and the duration of surgery. Three hundred and fifty eyes were analysed (191 patients) 205 in the N+ group and 145 in the N- group. Use of the surgical navigation system resulted in a greater proptosis reduction, and this result was statistically significant for the right eyeball (P=0.03). The surgical navigation system had no effect on symmetry of protrusion of the eyeballs or on postoperative diplopia. Setting up the navigation device increased the duration of surgery by 40 minutes on average. This study evaluated the effect of systemic administration of omega-3 on the expression of interleukins IL-1β and IL-10 and tumour necrosis factor alpha (TNF-α) and on the thickness of cartilage in the temporomandibular joint (TMJ) inflammatory model induced by complete Freund's adjuvant (CFA). Thirty-two adult rats were divided equally into four groups control, CFA (induced arthritis), and induced arthritis animals treated with dexamethasone or omega-3. The TMJs were then removed and assigned to histomorphometric analysis or immunoassay. The Kruskal-Wallis test with Dunn post hoc test was applied to the data; the significance level was set at 5%. IL-1β levels (median; interquartile range) were higher (P less then 0.0001) in the CFA group (46.4 ng/ml; 39.4-53.3) than in the control group (1.81 ng/ml; 1.5-5.4), but there were no differences between the control, omega-3, and dexamethasone groups. TNF-α levels were also higher (P less then 0.0001) in the CFA group (122.7 ng/ml; 92.9-284.7) than in the control group (29.1 ng/ml; 23.7-31.3). IL-10 levels were lowest (P less then 0.0001) in the CFA group (73.5 ng/ml; 52.8-90.5), and no differences were found amongst the other groups. In conclusion, omega-3 successfully reduced the damage in the TMJ of induced arthritis rats. Further investigations are warranted to confirm whether the administration of omega-3 has a comparable effect to glucocorticoids in rheumatoid arthritis patients. Replantation of lower extremity is a very complex and difficult procedure. There are still a lot of controversies about indications, even numerous scoring systems are now available that can facilitate the surgeon's decision. We present the functional results of a replanted below-knee amputation in an elderly patient, 27 years after the injury and discuss the indication for replantation.
