Herein, we compared ambulatory blood pressure (ABP) between young adults with congenital adrenal hyperplasia (CAH) due to 21-hydroxylase enzyme (21OHase) deficiency and a control group. Additionally, we analyzed correlations between the glucocorticoid dose and androgen levels and ABP parameters.
This case-control study included 18 patients (6 males and 12 females) and 19 controls (8 males and 11 females) matched by age (18-31 years). ABP monitoring was used to estimate blood pressure (BP) over a 24-h period.

We investigated the effects of aerobic training on adipokine concentrations in women with polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS).
120 women, including 60 with PCOS and 60 without PCOS, were divided into six groups (n = 20) based on body fat percentages of 22%-27%, 28%-32%, and 33%-37%. All groups were submitted the same evaluations before and after 16 weeks of aerobic training. These included anthropometric and hemodynamic analyses, cardiopulmonary tests, and laboratory tests. Two-way analysis of variance was performed to evaluate the differences between women with and without PCOS, effect of the body fat percentage, and effect of aerobic training.
Body fat and PCOS were associated with high values of blood glucose, insulin, and testosterone. Body fat also reduced adiponectin levels and increased leptin, tumor necrosis factoralpha (TNF-α), and interleukin-6 (IL-6). In contrast, the PCOS increased only TNF-α and IL-6 levels. In the PCOS group, aerobic training reduced insulin, triglycerides, leptin, and IL-6 levels. It also promoted an increase in adiponectin and high-density lipoprotein levels. However, aerobic training did not alter TNF-α concentrations.

We examined the cumulative effects of eight hypothesised provisions (development accelerators) in reducing the risks of ontological insecurity outcomes aligned with Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) targets. Three waves of survey data from adolescents living in high HIV prevalence areas in South Africa were analysed. We used standardised tools to measure twelve outcomes linked to two dimensions of ontological security mental health and violence. The literature search was conducted in the EMBASE, PubMed, Scopus, CINAHL, and Cochrane Library databases. Eligible studies were identified by independent reviewers based on the title, abstract and full-texts. Studies were limited to randomized clinical trials published in peer-reviewed journals in English that compared conventional exercise with VR-exergaming for improving the physical and cognitive abilities of PwMS. Selected studies were assessed for their risk of bias and the major findings of the reviewed studies were analyzed descriptively. The search identified 239 articles of which 10 studies met the eligibility criteria. Despite these studies employing strategies to control biases, some risks of bias remain. Various gaming platforms and conventional exercises were used based on the extent of technologies and therapy regimens. The selected studies used measures of physical and cognitive abilities to compare VR-exergaming with conventional exercise. This review suggests positive impacts of both VR-exergaming and conventional exercise in MS rehabilitation. We also found that VR-exergaming generally exceeded conventional exercise for improving physical and cognitive abilities, psychosocial status, and fatigue.Two new sesquiterpenoids, named 9,10-dihydroxy-albaflavenone (1) and 5-hydroxy-albaflavenone (2) were isolated from Dictyophora indusiata. To evaluate the variations in tear parameters and meibomian gland morphology after epithelial-on (epi-on) corneal collagen cross-linking (CXL) in keratoconus (KC) patients.
This prospective observational study included 38 KC eyes that underwent epithelium-on CXL. Thirty-three eyes of 33 stable KC patients with no prior CXL treatment formed the KC group and 35 eyes of 35 healthy volunteers were recruited as the control group. All participants were evaluated by Schirmer I test, first and average noninvasive tear break-up time (NITBUT), ocular surface disease index (OSDI) questionnaire, and meibography scores. The CXL patients were evaluated preoperatively and at the 1st, 3rd, and 6th months, and participants without any intervention (KC and control groups) were evaluated initially, at 1st, 3rd, and 6th months.
The KC patients had significantly lower average NITBUT, higher OSDI scores, and impaired meibomian gland morphology than healthy individuals (NITBUT(seconds) KC, 12.8(2.4-17.6), healthy group (HG), 17.1(6.8-17.6); p = 0.012, OSDI KC, 27.5(0.0-87.5), HG, 7.5(0.0-55.0); p < 0.001, p < 0.001, respectively). A significant difference was found in Schirmer values of the CXL group at 0-1st months, first NITBUT values at 1-6 months, and average NITBUT values at 1-3 and 1-6 months (p = 0.003, p = 0.001, p = 0.003, p = 0.001, respectively). All meibography parameters remained unchanged after CXL over a 6-month follow-up compared to initial measurements.
