This meta-analysis was conducted to assess the accuracy of ADC analysis in differentiating high-grade (HGGs) from low-grade gliomas (LGGs). METHODS PubMed, Cochrane library, Science Direct, and Embase were searched to identify suitable studies up to September 1, 2018. The quality of studies was evaluated by the quality assessment of diagnostic accuracy studies (QUADAS 2). We estimated the pooled sensitivity, specificity, positive and negative likelihood ratios (LR), diagnostic accuracy ratio (DOR) with 95% confidence intervals (CI), and determined the accuracy of the data by using the summary receiver operating characteristic (SROC) and calculating the area under the curve (AUC) to identity the accuracy of ADC analysis in grading gliomas. RESULTS Eighteen studies including 1172 patients were included and analyzed. The pooled sensitivity, specificity, PLR, NLR, DOR, and AUC with 95% CIs of DWI with b values of 1000 s/mm for separating HGGs from LGGs were 0.81 (95% CI 0.75-0.86), 0.87 (95% CI 0.81-0.91), 6.1 (95% CI 4.2-8.9), 0.22 (95% CI 0.17-0.29), 28 (95% CI 17-45), and 0.91 (95% CI 0.88-0.93), respectively. DWI with b values of 3000 s/mm showed slightly higher accuracy than that of 1000 (sensitivity 0.80, specificity 0.90 and AUC 0.92). Meta-regression analyses showed that field strengths and b values had significant impacts on diagnostic efficacy. Deeks testing confirmed no significant publication bias in all studies. CONCLUSIONS This meta-analysis suggested that ADC analysis of DWI have high accuracy in differentiating HGGs from LGGs. Standardized methodology is warranted to guide the use of this technique for clinical decision-making.Stenotrophomonas maltophilia (S. maltophilia) is an important nosocomial bacterial pathogen. However, the clinical features of children with S. maltophilia infection, the predisposing factors, and the antibiotic susceptibility of the bacteria have not been fully evaluated. In this study, the data of children with S. maltophilia infection from the West China Second University Hospital of Sichuan University (Chengdu, China) between July 2010 and October 2017 were collected and analyzed. The clinical features of enrolled children, the predisposing factors, and the antibiotic susceptibility were reported. In total, infection of S. maltophilia was identified in 128 patients. Most of these patients were under 1 year old (67.2%) and were mainly diagnosed as pneumonia (69%). A large proportion had underlying diseases (45.3%), received immunosuppressive therapy (53.1%), had undergone invasive operations (41.4%), had a history of carbapenem antibiotics use within 7 days before culture acquisition (54.7%), history of intensive care unit (ICU) hospitalization within previous 30 days (34.4%), and other risk factors. In particular, invasive operation (95% confidence interval [CI] 1.125-14.324, P = .032), especially mechanical ventilation (95% CI 1.277-20.469, P = .021), and ICU admission (95% CI 1.743-22.956, P = .005) were independent risk factors for the children to develop severe S. maltophilia infection. As for antibiotic susceptibility, trimethoprim sulfamethoxazole (TMP-SMX), piperacillin tazobactam, ticarcillin clavulanate, and ceftazidime exhibited strong antibacterial activities against S. maltophilia, the susceptibility rates were 97.5%, 86.7%, 92.9%, and 81.5%, respectively. We report the clinical features of children with S. 3MA maltophilia infection, the predisposing factors and the antibiotic susceptibility. TMP-SMX can continue to be the first choice for the treatment of S. maltophilia infection. Piperacillin tazobactam, ticarcillin clavulanate, and the third generation cephalosporins can be used as alternative drugs. To study the prevalence of burnout and job satisfaction in Chinese pediatrics residents.Prospective participants were invited via a WeChat group to participate from October 1, 2018 to January 31, 2019. The Maslach Burnout Inventory-Human Services Survey was used to measure physician burnout, and the Minnesota Satisfaction Questionnaire was used to measure job satisfaction.A total of 380 residents (81.1% response rate) from 35 pediatric residency programs completed the cross-sectional web-based survey. Of the responders, 233 (61.3%) exhibited high levels of career burnout. Residents 24 to 29 years of age were less likely to report burnout than residents ≥30 years of age (50.9% vs74.7%; P  less then  .05). In addition, residents with an annual income less than 80,000 RMB seem to have higher burnout levels (66.2%). Residents who reported that they felt sleep deprived had significantly higher rates of burnout than those who did not (P  less then  .01). Logistic regression showed that age ≥30 years (odds ratio [OR] 3.74 [1.57-7.66], P  less then  .01) and sleep deprivation (OR 4.11 [2.19-7.35], P  less then  .01) were the 2 independent risk factors associated with burnout.Burnout is highly prevalent among Chinese pediatrics residents who also reported poor job satisfaction.Although serum bile acids and total cholesterol (TC) are closely related to liver cirrhosis, the potential diagnostic value of total bile acid-to-cholesterol ratio (TBA/TC) for liver fibrosis is unclear. The present study aimed to evaluate the value of TBA/TC in the diagnosis of cirrhosis and the relationship between TBA/TC and significant liver fibrosis in chronic hepatitis B virus (HBV) infected patients without cholestasis.667 patients with alkaline phosphatase (ALP) ≤ 1.5 upper limit of normal (ULN) and gamma-glutamyl transferase (GGT) ≤ 3 ULN were rigorously included in this cross-sectional study. Liver biopsy was performed in 32 patients and METAVIR scoring system was used to evaluate liver fibrosis stage. Liver ultrasound elastography was performed in 138 patients, significant fibrosis was defined as fibrosis ≥ F2. Multiple logistic regression as well as receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curves analyses were performed.Compared to patients with non-cirrhosis, TBA and TBA/TC were significantly higher in cirrhosis while TC was significantly lower (all P  less then  .
