The requirements for drinking prevention programs for youth were also investigated. The result showed that a significantly higher proportion of parents of elementary school students had experiences of initiating alcohol use in their children compared to parents of kindergarten children. The parents' knowledge regarding the effects of alcohol on youth showed no significant difference between the two parent groups. These data indicate that the age of children is the only factor as opposed to parents' knowledge. We also found significant differences in the requirements of prevention programs between the two parent groups. The results of this study can contribute to the design of alcohol prevention programs for these parents, which could reduce the onset of children's drinking.Human pose estimation and tracking in real-time from multi-sensor systems is essential for many applications. This paper proposes a human motion tracking system using lidar and inertial sensors to estimate 3D human pose in real-time. Human motion tracking includes human detection and estimation of height, skeletal parameters, position, and orientation by fusing lidar and inertial sensor data. The cloned duck GPR3 and duck/chicken GPR6 and GPR12 are intron-less and encode receptors that show high amino acid (a.a.) sequence identities (66-88%) with their respective mammalian orthologs. Interestingly, a novel GPR12-like receptor (named GPR12L) sharing 66% a.a. identity to that in vertebrates was reported in the present study. Using dual-luciferase reporter assay and Western blot, we demonstrated that GPR3, GPR6, GPR12, and GPR12L are constitutively active and capable of stimulating the cAMP/PKA signaling pathway without ligand stimulation in birds (and zebrafish), indicating their conserved signaling property across vertebrates. RNA-seq data/qRT-PCR assays revealed that GPR6 and GPR12L expression is mainly restricted to the chicken brain, while GPR12 is highly expressed in chicken ovarian granulosa cells (GCs) and oocytes of 6 mm growing follicles and its expression in cultured GCs is upregulated by progesterone. Taken together, our data reveal the structure, function, and expression of GPR3, GPR6, GPR12, and GPR12L in birds, thus providing the first piece of evidence that GPR12 expression is upregulated by gonadal steroid (i.e., progesterone) in vertebrates.

To evaluate fluoride ion release and recharge capacity, sorption, and solubility of polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA) dental resin modified with bioactive glass addition.
Two bioactive glass materials (5 wt% Kavitan, 10 wt% Kavitan, and 10 wt% Fritex) and pure 10 wt% NaF were added to dental acrylic resin. After polymerization of the modified resins, the release levels of fluoride anions were measured based on color complex formation by using a spectrophotometer after 7, 14, 28, and 35 days of storage in distilled water at 37 °C. Subsequently, specimens were brushed with a fluoride-containing tooth paste on each side for 30 s, and the fluoride recharge and release potential was i% Kavitan glass. No significant differences were found regarding solubility levels after 7 days.
The addition of 10 wt% Fritex and 10 wt% Kavitan bioactive glass materials to heat-cured acrylic resin may improve its material properties, with bioactive fluoride ion release ability lasting for over 4 weeks. The resin modified with 10 wt% Fritex glass could absorb fluoride ions from the toothpaste solution and then effectively release them. Addition of fluoride releasing fillers have a small effect on sorption and solubility increase of the modified PMMA resin.

The interaction of MPs with the components of PD, the formation of transport complexes and the recruitment of host cellular components have all revealed different facets of their functions. Multitasking is an inherent property of most viral proteins, and MPs are no exception. Some MPs carry out multitasking, which includes gene silencing suppression, viral replication and modulation of host protein turnover machinery. Assessing risk for viral transmission often involves characterization of the vector competence of vector-virus pairings. The most common determination of vector competence uses discreet, terminal time points, which cannot be used to investigate variation in transmission aspects, such as biting behavior, over time. Here, we present a novel method to longitudinally measure individual biting behavior and Zika virus (ZIKV) transmission. Individual mosquitoes were exposed to ZIKV, and from 9 to 24 days post-exposure, individuals were each offered a 180 μL bloodmeal every other day. Biting behavior was observed and characterized as either active probing, feeding, or no bite. The bloodmeal was then collected, spun down, serum collected, and tested for ZIKV RNA via qRT-PCR to determine individuals' vector competence over time. This included whether transmission to the bloodmeal was successful and the titer of expectorated virus. Additionally, serum was inoculated onto Vero cells in order to determine infectiousness of positive recovered sera. Results demonstrate heterogeneity in not only biting patterns but expectorated viral titers among individual mosquitoes over time. These findings demonstrate that the act of transmission is a complex process governed by mosquito behavior and mosquito-virus interaction, and herein we offer a method to investigate this phenomenon.
