This study conducted a techno-economic assessment of bioenergy and agricultural fertilizer production from AcoD of sewage sludge, wine vinasse, and poultry manure. In this case study, three configurations were investigated i) Scenario 1, AcoD in thermophilic temperature; ii) Scenario 2, AcoD in mesophilic temperature; and iii) Scenario 3, AcoD in a temperature phase (TPAD) system, where the digestate produced in the first reactor (thermophilic) feeds the second reactor (mesophilic). The process was designed to manage 24,022 m³ wine vinasse y-1, 24,022 m³ sewage sludge y-1, and 480 m³ poultry manure y-1. The major cost was the fixed capital investment for the single-stage (320,981 USD) and TPAD processes (379,698 USD). The TPAD process produced the highest electricity (1058.99 MWh y-1) and heat (4765.47 GJ y-1) with the lowest cost of manufacturing for electricity (84.99 USD MWh-1), heat (0.019 USD MJ-1), and fertilizer (30.91 USD t-1). Regarding the profitability indicators, the highest net present value (509,011 USD) and the lowest payback time (4.24 y) were achieved for Scenario 3. In conclusion, TPAD is a profitable and sustainable waste-to-energy management technology that can be applied in a circular economy framework to recover bioenergy and fertilizer, contributing to decreasing the carbon footprint of the agri-food sector.Fluvial engineering works such as weirs, rip-rap, groynes, and dykes have constrained for decades and more the lateral mobility of rivers, one of the key drivers of aquatic and riparian diversity. Preserving or restoring a sufficient space for river mobility has therefore become a major river management focus. Because the success and relevance of management actions are conditioned by the level of energy and sediment supply of rivers, such actions are generally considered unsuitable for low-energy rivers. However, some low-energy rivers have numerous ancient engineering works along their length, especially bank protections, suggesting a potential capacity for bed migration. In this context, it is essential to determine to what extent planform dynamics is disturbed, and if lateral mobility can be restored. Herein, a case study was done on a 146 km stretch of the low-energy meandering gravel-bed Cher River (France). The goal of the study was to estimate the remnant shifting capacity, identify the factors controlly for very short sections of the river. It is therefore highly unlikely that good ecological status could be achieved on the entire river corridor through removal of bank protections. Nevertheless, a possible solution could be combining bank protection removals with a series of gravel augmentations close to each other.Wastewater from non-ferrous metal smelting is known as one of the most dangerous sources of arsenic (As) due to its high acidity and high arsenic content. Herein, we propose a new environmental protection process for the efficient purification and removal of arsenic from wastewater by the formation of an AlAsO4@silicate core-shell structure based on the characteristics of aluminum-containing waste residue (AWR). At room temperature, the investigation with AWR almost achieved 100% As removal efficiency from wastewater, reducing the arsenic concentration from 5500 mg/L to 52 μg/L. With Al/As molar ratio of 3.5, the structural properties of AWR provided good adsorption sites for arsenic adsorption, leading to the formation of arsenate and insoluble aluminum arsenate with As. Estradiol Benzoate As-containing AWR silicate shells were produced under alkaline conditions, resulting in an arsenic leaching concentration of 1.32 mg/L in the TCLP test. AWR, as an efficient As removal and fixation agent, shows great potential in the treatment of copper smelting wastewater, and is expected to achieve large-scale industrial As removal.
To investigate the relationship between apathy and subjective cognitive decline (SCD) in community-dwelling older adults.
A total of 211 participants without objective cognitive impairment were included in this study. Their SCD, apathy, sleep quality, depression, and anxiety were assessed by face-to-face interviews. Multivariate logistic regression was constructed to examine the independent relationship between apathy and SCD with adjustment for confounders.
The participants' average SCD-questionnaire and apathy evaluation scale-self scores were 7.13 and 30.65, respectively. Nearly half of the participants were categorized as having SCD. A quarter of participants were identified as apathetic. The apathy score was significantly associated with an increased risk of SCD (odds ratio 1.05, 95% confidence interval 1.01-1.10) after controlling for covariates.
Apathy was independently and significantly associated with SCD in community-dwelling older adults without objective cognitive impairment. Thus early intervention on apathy is important to protect elderly cognitive functioning.

To evaluate a magic recreation program to reduce depressive symptoms in institutionalized older adults.
We conducted a pilot randomized controlled trial in which participants were assigned to either a magic group (n=6) or a control group with usual activities (n=6). The magic group received a 6-week magic recreation program. The data were analyzed by generalized estimating equations in terms of intention-to-treat analysis. A sensitivity analysis was conducted by examining the complete case analysis.
The magic recreation program significantly improved the scores of Patient Health Questionnaire-9 in the magic group (Wald χ 2=8.816, p=0.004, Cohen's d =1.51, power=0.9968). The results of the sensitivity analysis were consistent with the results of primary analysis.

To assess the association between self-reported sleep quality and nocturia in nursing home residents.
The association between self-reported poor sleep quality and nocturia was examined in eighty nursing home residents from two nursing facilities using logistic regression analysis.
Poor sleep quality was reported by 29% of the eighty participants (median age 89±7 years, 77% of women). Nocturia was more frequent in patients with versus without self-reported poor sleep quality (78% vs 47%, p=0.01). Nocturia was independently associated with self-reported poor sleep quality after controlling for age, gender, self-rated health status, cognitive frailty score, antidepressant and hypnosedative use (OR[95%CI] of 6.1[1.8-25.4]).

Cancer stem cells (CSCs) are characterized by their ability to self-renew, to differentiate into multiple cell types and also drive tumor formation, altogether making them important cellular targets for therapeutic intervention. However, existing CSC-targeting drugs do not significantly improve clinical outcomes. More recently, preclinical studies of natural product-derived compounds have demonstrated their potential usefulness as a therapeutic cancer treatment through their cytotoxic actions on CSCs.
Here, we identify CSC-specific compounds derived from natural products and characterize their putative mechanisms of action in CSCs.

We sought to conduct a systematic review and meta-analysis comparing CTCA with invasive coronary angiography (ICA) with regards to major adverse cardiovascular events (MACE), procedural complications and rates of revascularisation.
We conducted a systematic review and meta-analysis in line with the PRISMA statement. A literature search was conducted using PubMed, MEDLINE Ovid and Embase, with three studies included in meta-analysis. Statistical analysis was undertaken using Review Manager 5.3 for MacOS software and outcomes expressed as odds ratio, with 95% confidence intervals and sensitivity analysis was conducted.
