Offers of support were rarely used. Participants were critical of the closing of centers or meeting points for older people.
Older adults appear to be able to preserve their mental wellbeing during the COVID-19 pandemic. The relevance of mental resources of older adults for supporting younger generations seems to be unrecognized.

Therefore, in the present study, we aim to determine the efficacy and toxicity profile of daratumumab in a real-life setting. In this study, we report the experience of the multiple myeloma GIMEMA Lazio Group in 62 relapsed/refractory MM patients treated with daratumumab as monotherapy who had previously received at least two treatment lines including a PI and an IMiDs or had been double refractory. Patients received DARA 16 mg/kg intravenously weekly for 8 weeks, every 2 weeks for 16 weeks, and every 4 weeks until disease progression or unacceptable toxicity. The overall response rate to daratumumab was 46%. Median progression-free survival (PFS) and overall survival reached 2.7 and 22.4 months, respectively. DARA was generally well tolerated; however, 2 patients interrupted their therapy due to adverse events. Present real-life experience confirms that DARA monotherapy is an effective strategy for heavily pre-treated and refractory patients with multiple myeloma, with a favorable safety profile.Immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICI) have demonstrated high therapeutic efficacy in relapsed or refractory classical Hodgkin lymphoma (r/r cHL). Nevertheless, despite the accumulated data, the question of the ICI therapy duration and efficacy of nivolumab retreatment remains unresolved. In this retrospective study, in a cohort of 23 adult patients with r/r cHL who discontinued nivolumab in complete response (CR), the possibility of durable remission achievement (2-year PFS was 55.1%) was demonstrated. Retreatment with nivolumab has demonstrated efficacy with high overall response rate (ORR) and CR (67% and 33.3% respectively). At the final analysis, all patients were alive with median PFS of 16.5 months. Grade 3-4 adverse events (AEs) were reported in 36% of patients, and there was no deterioration in terms of nivolumab retreatment-associated complications.
Ga-PSMA PET/CT has a high detection rate in prostate cancer patients with biochemical recurrence (BCR). However, few studies have reported other imaging methods for BCR with negative
Ga-PSMA PET/CT findings. We investigated the value of
F-FDG compared with
Ga-PSMA and identified BCR patients with
Ga-PSMA-negative findings who are most likely to benefit from
F-FDG PET/CT.
Seventy-two BCR patients with negative
Ga-PSMA PET/CT findings were retrospectively identified from 510 patients who underwent concomitant
Ga-PSMA and
F-FDG PET/CT between June 2018 and August 2020. Patients were categorised into groups with positive or negative
F-FDG PET/CT findings. Differences in patients' characteristics between these two groups and predictors of positive
F-FDG findings were analysed.
The detection rate of
F-FDG PET/CT was 16.7% (12/72) in BCR patients with
Ga-PSMA-negative findings. PSA and Gleason score were significantly higher in the
F-FDG-positive group than in the
F-FDG-negative group (P< 0.001 and P< 0.001, respectively). A multivariate analysis indicated that PSA (PSA ≥2.3ng/mL) and Gleason score (Gleason score ≥ 8) correlated with
F-FDG-positive findings (P< 0.001 and P= 0.015, respectively). The probabilities of
F-FDG-positive findings in the low-potential (PSA <2.3ng/mL and Gleason score <8), moderate-potential (PSA <2.3ng/mL and Gleason score ≥ 8 or PSA ≥2.3ng/mL and Gleason score <8), and high-potential (PSA ≥2.3ng/mL and Gleason score ≥ 8) groups were 0%, 11.5%, and 90.0%, respectively (P < 0.001).
PSA level and Gleason score are independent predictors of
F-FDG-positive findings, and BCR patients with
Ga-PSMA-negative findings with high PSA and Gleason score are most likely to benefit from
F-FDG PET/CT.
PSA level and Gleason score are independent predictors of 18F-FDG-positive findings, and BCR patients with 68Ga-PSMA-negative findings with high PSA and Gleason score are most likely to benefit from 18F-FDG PET/CT.
The vertebral triangle (VT) located in the root of the neck most commonly contains the vertebral artery (VA), cervical sympathetic chain and certain roots of the brachial plexus. Although other structures have been reported, few studies have reported on the overall content of this space. Based on the current literature, there is a general paucity of anatomical information pertaining to the dimensional anatomy of the VT and specifically the structures related to it. Therefore, this study aimed to quantitatively analyze the size, position, content, and anatomical structures in relation to the vertebral triangle in a South African sample.
Forty-three VTs were dissected on bodies donated to science. Measurements taken include the dimensions of the triangle, as well as distances between prominent structures and landmarks of the VT. Observations were made on the presence/absence of the varying neurovascular structures within the VT.
Mean height was 30.1 ± 1.51mm (R) and 32.9 ± 1.78mm (L). Mean width was 18.3 ± 0.74mm (R) and 19.3 ± 0.98mm (L). The C8 spinal nerve was found on average approximately halfway [16.4 ± 0.74mm (R) and 15.9 ± 0.95mm (L)] in the VT. The VA was present in the VT in 100% of the sample and the C7 spinal nerve and inferior sympathetic ganglia were present in more than 80% of the sample.
Understanding the VT and the content is of the utmost importance and of great interest to neurosurgeons, to avoid these important neurovascular structures and prevent iatrogenic complications during surgery.
