We present the case of a 32-year-old male who presented with a growing scrotal mass initially diagnosed as benign adenomatoid tumor on ultrasound 6 years prior. Repeat ultrasound showed an abnormal extra-testicular mass with nodular and cystic components and internal vascularity. Selleckchem C-176 A computed tomography scan of the abdomen and pelvis confirmed a right extra-testicular scrotal mass with cystic and solid enhancing components. The patient underwent radical orchiectomy and postoperative pathology diagnosed mesothelioma of the tunica vaginalis of the testis. Mesothelioma of the tunica vaginalis of the testis is an exceptionally rare disease. We discuss the risk factors, imaging features, and treatment strategies of the disease. © 2020 The Authors. A contrast-enhanced computer tomography (ceCT) scan showed a reduced perfusion of both adrenal glands. The clinical examinations and the laboratory tests were negative for an adrenal pathological process. To reassess the adrenal ischemia, a second ceCT scan was performed 5 days later showing an acute bilateral adrenal hemorrhage. These findings demonstrated that the previous adrenal hypoperfusion represented the prodromal manifestation of a hemorrhagic intraglandular process. This case suggests that adrenal hypoperfusion detected on tomographic imaging dictates a prompt clinical management finalized to strictly monitor the potential evolution towards a more aggressive pathological condition and confirms the pivotal role of imaging in the diagnosis of such uncommon disorder. © 2020 The Authors. The most common primary sources for pulmonary metastases include breast, colon gastrointestinal including pancreas and urinary bladder. Malignant lung tumors in pediatric population is extremely rare. However, like in adult patient population, metastases are more common than primary tumors in lung in pediatric patients. Metastatic spread of tumors can occur both by way of hematogenous spread and lymphatic pathways. We present a rare case of biopsy proven metastatic thyroid carcinoma in the lung in a 12-year-old male child masquerading as bilateral miliary nodules on imaging studies. The importance of recognition of this entity in terms of prognosis and treatment is discussed. © 2020 The Authors. It is usually classified as a conotruncal anomaly. Due to parallel fetal circulation, truncus arteriosus does not cause any haemodynamic problem in utero. However it is a major problem postnatally and, if left untreated, approximately 80% of infants die within the first year. Diagnosis should be made early by radiologists and cardiologists due to fatal illness. We found it valuable to present a case of truncus arteriosus with computerized tomography findings because of its rare occurrence. © 2020 The Authors. While uncommon, exertional-induced rhabdomyolysis is an important diagnostic consideration when encountering hyperintensity within one or more muscles on fluid sensitive sequences in conjunction with signal abnormality in the overlying superficial fascia and subcutaneous fat. The clinical history of recent extreme exercise helps distinguish this disorder from other possible diagnoses, such as cellulitis, necrotizing fasciitis, compartment syndrome, inflammatory processes and diabetic myonecrosis. Patients diagnosed with severe exertional induced rhabdomyolysis often require hospital admission for intravenous hydration and serial laboratory monitoring due to the potential risk of acute renal failure. While contributory, magnetic resonance imaging findings can be nonspecific, and therefore the clinical history is often essential in making this diagnosis. © 2020 The Authors. Two forms are described the superficial form and the deep form, or angioedema. In young children aged under 3 years, urticaria is commonly annular and ecchymotic, and is mistaken for erythema multiforme or acute hemorrhagic edema. Serum sickness-like reaction is a particular form of urticaria characterized by angioedema of the extremities, fever and arthralgia, and it is chiefly drug-induced (cephalosporins). With children, questioning and clinical examination are essential and, in most cases, reveal an etiology. The main causes of acute or recurrent urticaria are viral infections and/or drugs (non-specific histamine release), whereas chronic urticaria is mostly due to physical causes. In developed countries, parasitic infections are rarely the cause. Arguments in favor of a food allergy are as follows a setting of atopy, onset within one hour of taking the suspect food, absence of fever or infection, a duration of less than 24 hours, possible association with other signs of anaphylaxis, and further recurrence with each new intake of the suspect food. First-line treatment of urticaria without signs of severity consists solely of non-sedating antihistamine (associated with removal of the cause where the latter has been determined). Nearly one-third of cases of urticaria in children progress over a prolonged period of more than 6 weeks, thus constituting chronic urticaria (most often a form of mild recurrent urticaria during episodes of infection and/or medication). Chronic urticaria is very rarely due to an underlying inflammatory disease or a genetic disease such as cryopyrinopathy, and first-line etiological assessment is usually limited to the following tests CBC, sedimentation speed and/or CRP, and transaminases. © 2020 Published by Elsevier Masson SAS.
